Our project
In this project, we collaborate with other research groups to develop new therapeutic strategies for the treatment of different lung diseases.
New therapies for lung inflammation
We are currently working in developing and testing in vitro and in vivo new therapeutic strategies against lung inflammation
New therapies for lung fibrosis
We have proposed the used of lung surfactant to treat lung fibrosis. In addition, the pulmonary transplantation of alveolar epithelial type II cells, was also tested as source of newly synthesised surfactant in the fibrotic lungs of a rat animal model.
New therapies for lung infection
Collaborating with other research groups, we participated in the testing of cell stem therapy against lung infection
New therapies for pulmonary alveolar proteinosis
Collaborating with other research groups, we have worked in the development of a cell therapy for pulmonary alveolar proteinosis
